Shaq graduates with Doctoral from Barry University

Former superstar basketball center and current TNT mumbling head Shaquille O’Neal has told Jon Stewart, the New York Times, and ESPN that he’s getting his doctorate at Miami’s Barry University, where he defended his dissertation this month. His purported title? “How Leaders Utilize Humor or Aggression in Leadership Styles.”

Unfortunately, we’ve learned Shaq is not actually defending a traditional dissertation. Which is very disappointing for one reason: Dissertations are peer-reviewed and publicly available. And we already know from Shaq’s Miami Beach Police application — on which he listed “Laptop computer, binnochulars, master of surveillance” under special skills– that his writing style is incredible. We were really looking forward to dissecting Dr. O’Neal’s academic argument.

Tamera Mowry is going to be a mom! The actress, whose twin sister, Tia Mowry, just gave birth to her son, Cree Taylor, 10 months ago, is expecting her bundle of joy in October. This will be the first baby for the Tia & Tamera star and her husband, Fox News correspondent Adam Housley.

“Adam and I are excited about having a baby and the blessing that he or she will bring to our lives and to our family and friends,” the 33-year-old tells People.com. “We can’t wait to meet this little miracle!”

Tyler Perry studio fire

A 4-alarm fire at Tyler Perry’s studios in Atlanta, Georgia, burned incessantly Tuesday night into early Wednesday as more than 100 local firefighters were called to battle the blaze.

One building at the multi-million dollar, 200,000-square -foot studio was damaged, but the cause is not yet known.

Perry, who Forbes ranked entertainment’s highest paid man last year when he received an estimated $130 million in pay, released a statement through a publicist:

Atlanta firefighters responded immediately to a fire which damaged the backlot façade of one of the buildings at Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta. We are grateful that there were no injuries, and that 99 percent of the damage is limited to the backlot facade. Mr. Perry wishes to express his heartfelt thanks to the Atlanta fire department for their professionalism in their quick response and limiting the damage.

NFL Star Junior Seau found Dead

TMZ first reported that retired NFL star Junior Seau was found dead Wednesday morning, and that the police were investigating after his housekeeper found the NFL legend with a fatal shutgun wound to the chest.

NFL legend Junior Seau was found dead in his home in Oceanside, CA … and cops are investigating a shooting … multiple law enforcement sources tell TMZ.

Cops are currently at Seau’s home just outside San Diego. Seau was 43-years-old … and leaves behind 3 kids and an ex-wife.

Three years later, the school didn’t see enough reward.

The Basketball Hall of Fame player was fired Friday by FIU, after his teams went 26-65 in his three seasons. His hiring came out of nowhere in 2009 – ”No one thought we could pull this off,” FIU director of sports and entertainment Pete Garcia proudly said at the time – and in the end, so did his firing.
